Loreena McKennitt
Loreena McKennitt, a native Canadian, has achieved great success as a singer and producer of New Age music by basing her music on Celtic sounds. From her first album, Elemental, in 1985, to her most recent, Live in Paris and Toronto, in 1999, her ethereal voice has won her fans all across the globe. Her greatest fame came from The Mummers Dance, which received extensive radio play and became a hit single. It reached the Billboard Top 20 and MTV music video hit, going on to sell four million copies worldwide. This drove the album, The Book of Secrets, to double platinum status. She is currently working on a new album.
