Lúnasa
Lúnasa has been called the “hottest Irish acoustic band on the planet,” and, indeed their selections of fast jigs and reels give credibility to that claim. Unique among traditional bands, Lunasa does not have a vocalist - so every track is an exciting instrumental tune. The lineup: Sean Smyth (fiddle), Kevin Crawford (flute), Trevor Hutchinson (bass), Donogh Hennessy (guitar) and Cillian Vallely (uilleann pipes), reads like a list of traditional music all stars. By emphasizing, rhythm, as well as melody, the band has brought a new dimension to Irish traditional music.
