For those asking who will replace the great Irish ballad groups, Hair of the Dog provides one answer. The vocals are shared among the band members but it is the musical accompaniement, a mix of Irish traditional, American Bluegrass, Country and Rock n Roll that makes the band a standout. Band members include: Rick Bedrosian, bass; Mike DeAngelis, Rhythm guitar; John Haggerty, banjo; Larry Packer, fiddle; Eric Finn, electric guitar, Scott Apicelli, drums. They perform a mix of covers - Lukey and Drink the Night Away; traditional songs - Right, Alright, Festival of Galway, The Little Beggarman, Maire's Wedding and originals by DeAngelis - Angel from Antrim, Devil's Coal and Bartender Billy. The title track Donegal is by fellow Saratoga Springs musician, Kevin McKrell, who also contributes the song MaryAnne. Fun album to listen to.
